As followers of Jesus, we are filthy rich—not with money, but with the spiritual wealth God has given us​ in Christ. In Ephesians 1:1–14, Paul opens his letter by showing us that we’re rich in three powerful ways: our identity in Christ, our spiritual blessings, and our salvation.​ In these opening verses, Paul pours out praise for everything God has done for us in Christ. Before we ever did anything, God chose us, adopted us, blessed us, and sealed us with His Spirit. These riches aren’t temporary—they’re eternal, and they give us a new way to see ourselves, our lives, and our future.
